Really it can’t get worse. France 0-1 Belarus in the Stade de France. I’m not going to talk about tactics or players. My testosterone is balled up in a fit of anger. I have been writing a lot for the France WCB lately, but my consistency may cease a little. Not because of this, but because I am moving to Auxerre, France next week, wish me luck! Please feel free to release your frustrations below.

England are yet to have their post World Cup watershed moment – France have installed a new coach (albeit an appointment that was arranged during the tournament) and held crisis talks, Brazil too have a new manager, Italy have done the same and even brought back Antonio Cassano. England have changed little. Nevertheless, a victory tonight is expected against a Bulgaria side that failed to make the World Cup and, purely to buck the trend of people predicting a dull England win, This Blog is predicting a 5-1 England win. Estonia Estonia Wherefor Art Thou Estonia Update 3: Daylife has some pictures from our last training session up, and this one really stuck out to me. What’s up with Bovo? Does he really hate Giorgio’s shows that much? Giorgio must have some really smelly feet. And is it just me or does Bovo look like Phil from Modern Family?

It’s almost time for Blanc’s first competitive match as coach of France. I’m sure he didn’t imagine it would be this way, France is riddled with injuries and suspensions to their key players. At least we have someone competent who can piece together a squad of misfits. To add to Blanc’s woes, this morning Karim Benzema was ruled out of today’s match. Let’s take a look at Belarus. Last week I published a post containing Belarus’ squad

Deja vu? Japan’s next chapter begins where the previous one left off by facing Paraguay – the country who knocked Japan out of the World Cup on penalties just two months ago. Clerly there is rather less at stake tomorrow in Yokohama, but with the new coach Alberto Zaccheroni watching from the stands there is every reason for the Japanese players to be giving it their all. Japan’s squad is fairly strong , with the European contingent (barring the more recent exports) in attendance, although Makoto Hasebe and home-based Marcus Tulio Tanaka have since pulled out with injury. Zaccheroni may not be in charge, that will be Hiromi Hara for these two matches only, but he will be there and has of course had some informal involvement with the players in the lead up to the match… “I had a meeting with the players and they are all very motivated. The first thing I said to them was how well they had played at the World Cup.” “I told them also that as Japan national team players they must continue to show pride and responsibility. The World Cup page is closed now and they have to write a new chapter.
